Amanda is a Senior Partner  and specialises in the firm’s litigation matters.  In addition to being an experienced Solicitor, Amanda is also a Senior Caseworker under the asylum and immigration accreditation scheme.

Amanda was a political agent for the Conservative Party for several years before embarking on a career in law in 1990.  Having obtained her law degree at Plymouth University, Amanda qualified in 1998.  Having qualified Amanda initially practised as a family and children’s solicitor.  Moving from Bude to Plymouth she is a forming partner of the firm and has ongoing responsibility for our administration, management and recruitment.   Amanda is married to Charles Knapper and has 4 young children.

Kate is a Partner, Solicitor and Supervising Caseworker under the asylum and immigration accreditation scheme. Although primarily specialising in immigration, asylum and citizenship law she also has extensive experience in conveyancing and litigation areas of practice.

Kate initially studied Biology obtaining her B.Sc. at Kings College London.  Kate then converted to Law and took the Diploma in Law at Plymouth University in 1994 and qualified in 1997 having been articled at a specialist Immigration and Asylum firm of solicitors in London.  Kate is a member of the Law Society’s panel of Immigration Practitioners and is not only qualified as a senior caseworker but also an immigration and asylum supervisor for senior caseworkers.  Kate has an unrivalled reputation as an advocate in the immigration and asylum appeals tribunals and is particularly proud of her remarkably high percentage success rate.  Although Kate practices in Cambridge her reputation is such that she has a client following from all over the United Kingdom.  Married to a medical doctor and with two children Kate is a dedicated expert in immigration and asylum law.

Charles Knapper is the Managing Partner and is the firm’s litigation specialist. He has numerous private and commercial clients across a wide range of litigation matters. Charles also has an extensive and loyal Client base in residential and commercial conveyancing and other contentious and non- contentious matters including landlord actions and wills and probate.

Additional qualifications include being an incorporated engineer with the Council of Engineering Institute and he is an associate member of the Institute of Marine Engineers Science and Technology. As a professional engineer Charles has a specialist insight into many commercial and industrial disputes and is able to undertake specialist litigation work including catastrophic steam plant failures, marine engine and gearbox failures as well as general mechanical and electrical engineering disputes including motor vehicle repair disputes. 

Charles also holds a certificate of professional competence in road haulage and is able to use his engineering and other qualifications to bolster any advice to a client with an engineering based dispute.

Charles obtained his engineering qualification having served over 12 years in the Royal Navy with the majority of his time spent on Nuclear Submarines.  Charles is experienced in all form of propulsion systems including steam, gas turbine, diesel and nuclear.  Charles is also qualified in the field of electrical generation and distribution as well as control electrical systems.  

Charles is also a Senior Caseworker under the asylum and immigration accreditation scheme and undertakes advocacy work in the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal.

Adrian joined Fursdon Knapper in 2003 and after qualifying in 2005 has focused upon both residential and commercial conveyancing and housing law, in which he has a growing and loyal landlord Client base in Plymouth .

Adrian also has experience in various areas of litigation and non- contentious areas such as wills and probate. Prior to joining Fursdon Knapper Adrian had his own businesses for many years and brings an effective commercial awareness and understanding to all his dealings.

Nicola qualified as a Solicitor in 2005 after joining Fursdon Knapper as a Trainee in 2003. Prior to that she had worked for several years as a Litigation Paralegal in London .

Nicola has many immigration and asylum Clients and is also a Senior Immigration Caseworker in the asylum and immigration accreditation scheme. She also undertakes work in residential conveyancing, housing and litigation.

Nicola has cultivated an excellent reputation in asylum and immigration appeals.

Margaret joined Fursdon Knapper in 2005 and is currently training as part of the legal team.
