Marjorie joined Fursdon Knapper in June 2010 as a trainee solicitor after completing the Post Graduate Diploma in legal practice at the University of Plymouth. Marjorie continues to work in the areas of Civil & Commercial Litigation, Landlord and Tenant, Family, Private Client (Wills, Probate, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection). Marjorie is a student member of STEP (Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners) as well as being an Associate Professional Member of Solicitors for the Elderly

Marjorie completed her LLB Hons at the University of Plymouth with a 2:1 and as the recipient of the following awards;

Bond Pearce Prize for ‘The Best Student Undertaking Commercial Law 2009’

Student Enterprise Award 2009 – Plymouth Law School Work Experience Award “…in recognition of your achievement and ability to encourage and inspire others”

University of Plymouth Student Enterprise Award 2009 – Plymouth Gin Award “…for instigating the University of Plymouth’s first Innocence Project”

Additional qualifications include;
University of Plymouth, BSc in Health Studies with Commendation.
University of Portsmouth, Diploma of Higher Education in Nursing Studies (Adult) - Distinction in practice.
English National Board for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting – Registered Nurse (Adult)


Marjorie has served as a member of the Women’s Royal Naval Service and practised as a Registered Nurse (Adult) in the National Health Service for many years, before studying to become a solicitor. Married to a serving Officer in the Royal Navy Submarine Service, with two adult children, she is an active member of her local sailing club and a keen conservationist.
